When you open your wardrobe door what happens?  Is everything neatly arranged and easily accessible, or are you more likely to face an avalanche of shoes, handbags and t-shirts?

What about your office space - tidy desk, easy to find laptop and phone; or a mountain of paperwork teetering on the brink of collapse into an untidy heap on the floor where you won’t be able to find anything.

The list goes on - understairs cupboards, attics, spare rooms (where did I leave the bed/guest?).

Have you got “it might come in useful” syndrome? Or it’s friend “it was a present I better keep it”.

Do you pay your bills on time, or put them off until the last moment?

How about your living space, does it flow easily between rooms or are there obstacles in the way, items stacked up in the hall, boxes to be unpacked still (how long is it since you moved?), too much furniture in each room ‘cos you downsized?

..and what about your brain?  Constantly on overload, mental list piling onto mental list, non stop internal chatter, negative self talk, judgement, criticism…or do you give yourself permission to chill sometimes, meditate and still that inner voice?

Hmm..consider for a moment that all this is mirrored in your physical being.  What are you holding on to?  How would it be if all areas of your life had space and calm within them, if order and joy flowed freely and easily around and through you?  What would that feel like?

Maybe we don’ t need so much stuff.  Think about the 80/20 rule and decide what you use most, then get rid of the other stuff that just sits there and serves no purpose save to add clutter to your life.  Enlist the help of family, friends and get enthusiastic about clearing out!  Its catching, and you meet some nice people at the local re-cycling centres!  Or use “Freecycle” to pass on your unwanted items to someone for whom it will provide a service.

To quote Louise Hay’s affirmation from her book “Heal Your Life” - “As I release the past, the new and fresh and vital enter.  I allow life to flow through me”

To your inner health and radiance,

Gill
